This class is great for small-to-medium sized presentation environments. These units are conference typically 8 to 13 lbs. Conference The Conference class projector is designed for either permanent or portable applications. Work station connectivity and control system interface is available for most of room these projectors. The typical weight is 13 to 30 lbs. Projectors are designed for the professional environment. Applications would include large classrooms, conference/training facilities, engineering and design, and religious venues. The typical weight for these projectors is over 30 lbs. Under $3,000.00 In this price range, you find mostly SVGA projectors that offer under 500 lumens of brightness and may or may not include zoom lenses and other accessories such as cables, cases and remote controls. These machines usually make great projectors for small training or classrooms where control of light is offered. $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 A step up in class, these projectors are typically SVGA ranging from 550 to 800 lumens. Brightness is measured in lumens. The lumens can range anywhere from 300 lumens to 3300 lumens, with 3300 being the brightest. Lumen Range Comments 300 - 500 lumens These will usually be the least expensive projectors. However, many situations projectors require some light for note taking and communication. If a room''s lighting cannot be controlled, a bright projector will be needed. Resolution can be defined as the number of pixels used by the projector to create an image. The higher the resolution, the better sharpness and clarity conference of the picture on the screen. XGA projectors tend to be more expensive than SVGA projector but prices are dropping due to the increased use of XGA laptop computers. SXGA 1280 x 1024 SXGA products are geared towards high-end personal computers and low end workstations. They projectors are often used in situations where acute resolution of small details is needed.
